A group of die-hard 4X4 wheelers comprising 58 adults (the oldest was a 65 year old who still has what it takes for this kind of activity) and 8 children (the youngest one being only 3 years old!) from the 4X4 Accessories in Singapore arrived at Desaru Resort on December 19 to have some fun and thrills on our off-road tracks. Twenty four vehicles convoyed together all the way from Singapore to Desaru Resort as early as 6.00 am on that day. They are all club members from the 4X4 Accessories that has multi national members to-date. Having off-road rendezvous like this is a monthly affair for them to intorduce basic off-roading to SUV owners, to impart skills required for basic convoying, to introduce basic maintenance involved for SUVs while off-roading and most of all, to inculcate a spirit of friendship, teamwork and cohesive bonding from people of all walks of life irrespective of age and gender.
As reported by the meteorology that it would be a wet morning on December 19, hence, the group came prepared with some of their trusty brollies and some with their jackets, wind breakers and even makeshift ponchos. After having a hearty breakfast, the group convoyed to Desaru Resort via the B roads of Sedili, our beautiful coastal route. The view along that route is simply breathtaking and awesome.
They arrived at Desaru Resort at around 3.00 pm and were warmly received by our Sales Executives who had arranged for a special registration desk dedicated for their group to facilitate their checking-in to their villas. After the usual introduction, their welcome drinks arrived, their keys were distributed, merchandises and souvenirs were handed out, and then they were all set to go to their villas to freshen up after the scenic drive.
At about 5.30pm, the group left the Hotel for their rendezvous on our off-road tracks. They had a great time at the trails and a few vehicles had some trouble getting up the steep slippery slopes and had to be rescued! The rescuing itself was already an exciting adventure and experience. At about 7.30pm they arrived back at the Hotel after about 2 hours on the trails. A private BBQ dinner was arranged for them at the gazebo where there were lots of music and noise and laughter. At the same time, it was also a time of birthday celebration for all the December babies among their club members.
After breakfast on the next day, some of them who still did not have enough of fun at the trails the day before, had gone out again off-roading to enjoy the naturalist's paradise Desaru Resort boasts. They said that they would definitely be back for more. For all those 4x4 wheelers and off-road die-hards out there, come to Desaru Resort and bring your "kakis" to experience our trails and soak up to the tranquillity and picturesque scenes we have around here.
